Institute of Politics Summer in Washington Program: Seeking Alumni Volunteers
The Institute of Politics’ Summer in Washington (SIW) program aims to inspire and engage students to pursue careers in public service. Open to any UChicago students in the DC area, including the more than 50 IOP-Metcalf internship recipients, the program will include a substantive event series, mentoring program, job tours and social events. This program is a great opportunity for alumni to connect with university students and engage with the UChicago Institute of Politics.
Are you interested in participating as an alumni volunteer, host or mentor this summer? Please fill out this form or contact Maira Khwaja, our student Summer in Washington Coordinator, at .
Alumni can participate in one of the following ways:
- Attend: We will host a few large events for the UChicago community in DC and we would love for you to join.
- Volunteer: Part of our summer programming includes career conversations and mentoring.
- Host: If you have an extra room, we have plenty of students who are looking for places to stay during the Summer.
We are sure DC alumni will have other exciting ideas on how we can engage your community and connect you with current students. Please feel free to send the IOP your thoughts either directly or through the online form: http://bit.ly/uc-summer-dc.
