Great Books Reading and Discussion Group
The Autobiography of Edward Gibbon, 1795
Alumni meet monthly to discuss one of the classics of literature.

Cost: Free, apart from the cost of food & drink
No Registration Required
At the next meeting, we will be discussing The Autobiography of Edward Gibbon. Gibbon, the author of The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, writes of his literary life and his efforts to create his great historical work. The autobiography is also an important chronicle of intellectual life in the late 18th century. This book complements our reading of the Decline and Fall itself, which will continue in April.

The Great Books Reading and Discussion Group normally meets on the fourth Monday of each month at the Agora restaurant.
