Hosted by Krisztina Kohlhaas (MBA'08), we will talk with Chicago Booth grads Jason Brown and Sean Singleton, both of whom have navigated the waters to successfully secure startup funding.
Krisztina Kohlhaas (MBA'08) is an expert in creating wealth and transforming lives. She partners with entrepreneurs, executives, and CEOs around the world and helps them uplevel their businesses, exponentially boost their revenue, and become dynamic and collaborative leaders, communicators, and role models of high integrity. Krisztina's clients have a bias for action and a willingness to face their fears in pursuit of their dreams. An adventurer herself, Krisztina has lived in 9 countries on 4 continents and has traveled to over 60. She holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, an MA from the George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs, a BA from the University of California San Diego, and is Past President of the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of the International Coach Federation. Krisztina works by invitation only with a handful of highly engaged clients at a time. By night she is also the lead singer in the classic rock cover band Sole Survivor.
Jason Brown (MBA'09) was co-founder and CEO of Gen110, a distributed electricity company. Funded by Kleiner Perkins in 2011, the company was acquired by Solar Universe in 2013. Before Gen110, Jason co-founded iTOK, a technology-enabled services company that helped broadband providers like Comcast increase subscriber retention. He graduated Summa Cum Laude in Business from Boston University and earned an MBA from Chicago Booth. Jason currently lives in San Francisco and is working on his next startup.
Sean Singleton (MBA'08) is a Principal at NewCap Partners and founder of Oglethorpe Capital. Oglethorpe places capital into cutting edge middle-market ventures through leveraging an extensive network of business owner, entrepreneurs and Subject Matter Experts (SME) across the United States. At NewCap, Sean addresses the strategic needs of entrepreneurs, investors and shareholders of companies by facilitating growth, increasing shareholder value and creating liquidity events through mergers and acquisitions, buyouts, recapitalizations and equity financing.
