Alumna in the Spotlight: “Heather Booth: Changing the World"
Heather Tobis Booth, AB'67, AM'70, to be featured in upcoming documentary
Heather Booth. AB'67, AM'70, has been making waves of social change since she first stepped onto the University's quad in the 1960s. After completing her first year, Booth traveled down to Mississippi for the summer to register black voters. After that project she embarked on an illustrious crusade for women's rights throughout the Civil Rights Movement.
Booth is no stranger to the spotlight. Her hard work has made her featured in the short film "This Little Light of Mine: The Legacy of Fannie Lou Hamer", and the recent documentary “She’s Beautiful When She’s Angry," an enrapturing title for a film chronicling the social change in the 1960s & 1970s. However, this time the spotlight will entirely be on Booth as Award-winning film-maker Lilly Rivlin, & her production company, Women Make Movies, produce “Heather Booth: Changing the World".
According to the documentary's website, "Heather Booth: Changing the World will blend interviews, from close friends, clients, colleagues and current Midwest Academy students with graphics, animation and a mélange of new technologies to explore Heather’s legacy in progressive politics and organizing."
