Call for Nominations: 2016 Alumni Awards
The Alumni Awards: 75 Years of Honoring Trailblazing Alumni. Nominations for 2016 are now open.
Last year,14 fellow alumni and faculty were honored with alumni awards, including a visionary in the media industry, a renowned mathematician, a preeminent psychologist, and a benefactor of the arts.
The Alumni Medal went to a pioneer in astrophysics, Edward C. Stone, SM'59, PhD'64, who sent the first man-made object into interstellar space. Kathleen Abbott, AB'95, assistant general counsel for the Illinois state treasurer's office, received an Alumni Service Award for her leadership, service, and mentorship in the Bay Area and Chicago alumni clubs. Who will join them in the distinction of far-reaching achievement and unfailing dedication?
This year, the University of Chicago will celebrate the Alumni Awards: 75 Years of Honoring Trailblazing Alumni. To commemorate the awards' anniversary, the University will recognize the service and accomplishments of outstanding UChicago community members at events throughout 2016, including the Diversity Leadership Awards, Volunteer Caucus, the Nora and Edward Ryerson Lecture, and more.
The Alumni Board of Governors and Alumni Association have called on us--alumni around the world--to help honor the UChicago alumni and faculty who have changed our world and strengthened our global community. Nominate the alumni and faculty you most admire by December 15.
