Continuing the spirit of Pride after the official celebration in DC, you are warmly invited on the evening of Saturday, July 30 for an informal dinner and discussion with your fellow alumni and guests at the home of Sean Dickson, AB'09. The event will feature a presentation and discussion on sexual minority health issues, led by David Chae, AB'99. David Chae is currently an Assistant Professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Maryland School of Public Health in College Park.
In lieu of a cover charge, please make a tax-deductible donation or a pledge to the OUTstanding Speakers Series Fund. When our multi-year campaign for this $100,000 endowment is complete, the OUTstanding Speakers Series will be an annual event drawing to campus distinguished scholars working on LGBTQ studies from a variety of disciplinary angles. The aim is not only to provide attendees and remote viewers an educational experience from a distinguished lecturer, but also to recognize the contributions of students to the LGBTQ community, to elevate the status of LGBTQ studies in this country as a field with rich and important scholarship, and to strengthen community connections among LGBTQ students, alumni, faculty, and staff.
Minimum Suggested Donations/Pledges
$25 (students and alumni Classes 2011-2016)
$50 (alumni beyond the last 5 years and all non-UChicago guests)
Event capacity limited to 20 people. Please make your donation or pledge and then RSVP above. RSVP required by Tuesday, July 19. We will need to give an exact count of attendees to our caterer. Please let us know if you have special dietary restrictions.
